The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a driver attempted to abduct a woman who was walking in Yacolt Wednesday night.

A woman in her 30s was walking home from work near West Yacolt Road and Railroad Avenue at about 11 p.m. Wednesday when a vehicle pulled over and the driver asked if she needed a ride home, Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Brent Waddell said.

The woman refused, but the man grabbed her arm and attempted to pull her into the vehicle, Waddell said.

The woman got away and called 911 from a nearby restaurant, BackRoads Food and Spirits at 303 N. Amboy Road, Waddell said.

The suspect was described as being a white man in his 40s or 50s, with a scruffy beard and a tattoo on his forearm, Waddell said. The vehicle was described as a four-door, “box-style” vehicle that was possibly tan in color, Waddell said.

Deputies searched the area but did not locate the suspect.
