Palmer Dinehart and Tyler Flanagan had big games and sophomore Isaiah Flanagan had an impressive varsity debut as the Beavers opened the season with a win.
Dinehart had 27 points and 16 rebounds. He added three key blocks in the third quarter when La Center tried to rally back in the game. One block led to an Alex Bishop dunk that re-established Woodland’s control.
Tyler Flanagan just missed a triple-double with 14 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds.
Isaiah Flanagan added 17 points.
“He hit some timely 3s,” Woodland coach Andrew Johnson said. “But what I was really impressed by was his defense. He really stepped up and did a great job on one of La Center’s better players.”
Saige Keep led La Center with 14 points and Hunter Ecklund and Matt Bryant added 13 each.
