Letter: Herrera Beutler out of touch

Apparently, the old adage “you can run but you can’t hide” no longer applies. Jaime Herrera Beutler ran, she was elected, and now she seems to be hiding with no town hall meetings traditionally scheduled during the recess week.

The question is, what is she hiding from? We, the constituents, can email her to share our concerns and reasons for them, which I do. But we can’t understand her reasoning behind her votes if she doesn’t meet and explain herself. With so much uncertainty in the Capitol, we would appreciate our representative sharing her take on current issues.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
