Vancouver – Additional law enforcement officers will be out on the county’s roads today, looking for impaired drivers.

The extra patrols, aimed at keeping drunken or otherwise impaired drivers off the road, are paid for through a state grant, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

The Vancouver and Washougal police departments, the Washington State Patrol and Clark County Sheriff’s Office will be participating.

The department asked those planning on indulging this weekend to make sure they have a safe ride home planned.

The department also asked anyone who sees someone they suspect may be driving impaired to dial 911.
