Columbia River Sweet Adelines Chorus seeks women 16 and older for four-part harmony. The ability to read music is not required. Vancouver Community Concert Band seeks all brass, woodwind and percussion players, active and retired. All abilities welcome, no audition required. The volunteer community band, along with its polka band, Dixieland Jazz Band and chamber ensembles, performs regularly around the area. Rehearsals are from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 11005 N.E. Highway 99, Vancouver. Friends of Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge seek submissions for its annual Refuge Photography Contest. Photographers can submit up to six nature images taken within the boundaries of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. Prizes will be awarded to both adult and youth entries. The deadline is Sept. 5, with entries submitted online at prophotosupply.com/contests

Second Story Gallery seeks applications from artists interested in display their work during 2018 in a monthly exhibit. Open to all mediums and styles, guidelines and an application form are available on the gallery’s website under “How to Exhibit.” Application deadline is 6 p.m. Sept. 8.
