Changes in start times and meal prices will be coming to the Washougal School District starting this fall.

The start time changes will accommodate the opening of the new Columbia River Gorge Elementary School, which will help the district cover the additional bus routes while trying to make minimal impacts on families with students at other schools.

The new times are mostly five minutes earlier or later than the current start times. The new attendance times are:

• Washougal High School: 7:50 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

• Jemtegaard Middle School: 8:04 a.m. to 2:35 p.m.

• Cape-Horn Skye Elementary School/Canyon Creek Middle School: 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

• Hathaway Elementary School: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• Gause Elementary School: 9:10 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.

• Columbia River Gorge Elementary School: 9:10 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.

New bus routes are expected to be made official in mid-August.

District officials also approved new meal prices to cover rising costs.
