Camas High grad Brian Humphreys has yet to play the 18th hole at The Oregon Golf Club, but he won’t be complaining.

Humphreys advanced to the quarterfinals of the 108th Oregon Amateur with a pair of victories on Friday.

After opening on Thursday with a 4 and 3 victory, Humphreys posted a 2 and 1 win — with the help of two eagles — over Billy Pollock of Eugene and a 6 and 5 win over Chace Dakalos of Albany, Ore.

Quarterfinals begin at 7:30 a.m. Saturday and semifinal rounds at 1:20 p.m. Saturday with the final on Sunday. Humphreys was runner-up in this tournament last year when it was played in Bend, Ore.

Evergreen High grad Will Snow also reached the quarterfinals. He had a 1-up win over Alex Lee of West Linn, and a 2-up win over Kevin Geniza of Corvallis. Snow is on the opposite site of the bracket from Humphreys.

Advancing to the women’s quarterfinals was Camas resident Kristin Elich, who had to beat sister Amanda Elich 2 and 1 in the Round of 16 to advance.
