Letter: Support CHRONIC care

By Blaine Ackley, HILLSBORO, ORE.
Published: June 26, 2017, 6:00am

As a chronically ill senior, I am urging my representatives in Congress to support S.870: The CHRONIC Care Act of 2017.

I rely on the high-quality care I receive from Medicare Advantage to help manage my chronic conditions. For this reason, I joined Better Medicare Alliance’s Chronic Disease Task Force to work with members of Congress to pass the CHRONIC Care Act of 2017.

The CHRONIC Care Act would provide greater access to community-based health care and innovative care delivery methods such as telemedicine, and most importantly allow health care providers and plans to provide more personalized care for patients with complex needs, like me.

I am urging my representatives to support the CHRONIC Care Act of 2017 to help seniors like me have greater access to the flexible care we need and deserve to manage our chronic illnesses.
