Camas sophomore places in regional science fair

Camas — Camas High School sophomore Tsering Shola, 15, won first place in the science category at the Southwest Washington Regional Science and Engineer Fair, held March 11 at Alki Middle School.

She finished second overall out of 22 categories in the competition, and earned a paid trip and a spot in the Intel International Science Fair, to be held at May 14 to 19 in Los Angeles.

Her project was titled “Oxtoic drug levels in cochlear tissues: Validating machine segmentation of drug uptake in individual cells types of cochlea in confocal images.”
