A Vancouver man was sentenced Friday to nearly four years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of possessing depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Benjamin F. Lewis, 35, was sentenced to 46 months in prison.

Clark County investigators became aware of suspicious activity on Aug. 29, 2016, when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received information from Google that suspected child pornography was found on its system. The upload came from email accounts and a phone number that was later traced to Lewis, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case.

Lewis was detained by detectives with the Digital Evidence Cybercrimes Unit following a monthslong investigation. He admitted to uploading images of child pornography and sending them from his cellphone to his desktop computer, the affidavit states.

He also told detectives that he has a problem and likes looking at pornography of “preteen” girls, court records said. Officers recovered about 50 images of suspected child pornography from Lewis’ computer. Most of the images depicted girls who appeared to be younger than 10, according to court documents.
