Celebrate color and energy during the May Day Arts and Crafts Festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today. The festival is hosted by the Ke Kukui Foundation. It features the May Day Court, with the May Day King and Queen and their eight Hawaiian Island princess attendants, wearing their respective island flower lei and colors. There will be hula dancing, food and shave ice, craft vendors and a lei making contest in Gaiser Hall, Clark College, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver. The Chelatchie Prairie Railroad kicks off its season with a Mother’s Day Weekend ride for the whole family. The train carries passengers on a 13-mile round trip through north Clark County, including crossing the Lewis River, with a stop to see Yacolt Falls and passage through a 330 foot tunnel. PHD Comics creator Jorge Cham and particle physicist Daniel Whiteson are the authors of “We Have No Idea: A Guide to the Unknown Universe,” where they explore why a vast portion of the universe is still a mystery, and explore those mysteries with infographics, cartoons and illustrations.
