Letter: Support Orange for port

By Bill Ward, CAMAS

There is a clear choice for Port of Vancouver District 1 commissioner.

Don Orange understands how substantial economic growth can be achieved without jeopardizing public safety and quality of life. By contrast, his opponent advocates an oil terminal posing threats to livability and mobility. Growth opportunities in logistics, wind/solar, life sciences and tourism are at risk.

We are witnessing the progress that is possible under community-minded leadership. The oil terminal scheme needs to be squashed to eliminate its further sidetracking legitimate economic expansion efforts. Orange will do so.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
