Minor League baseball update No. 12 on Clark County athletes through games of Sept. 4, 2017. This is the final update of the season:

Triple-A

Jeff Ames (Skyview HS), Durham Bulls (International League, Tampa Bay Rays)
Position: RHP
Season stats: 1-1, 3.98 ERA, 46 games, 2/2 saves/opportunities, 63.1 IP, 78 Ks, 35 BB, 1.41 WHIP
Recent highlights: Recorded the final out of the regular season with a strikeout in a 3-0 loss at Gwinnett (Braves) on Sept. 4. Durham (86-56) qualified for the International League playoffs, best of 5 vs. Indianapolis starting Sept. 6.

Double-A

Taylor Ard (Prairie HS), Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Southern League, Miami Marlins)
Position: 1B
Season stats: 124 games, .215 BA, 21 2B, 12 HR, 49 RBI, .291 OBP, .370 SLG
Recent highlights: Had an RBI single in a 6-3 win against Pensacola (Reds) on Sept. 1. Jacksonville (69-71 overall, second half champion) qualified for Southern League playoffs, faces Pensacola beginning Sept. 6.

Clint Coulter (Union HS), Biloxi Shuckers (Southern League, Milwaukee Brewers)
Position: OF
Season stats: 116 games, .234 BA, 21 2B, 1 3B, 14 HR, 49 RBI, .318 OBP, .403 SLG
Recent highlights: Went 2-for-16 in the season’s final series against Mobile (Angels). He led the team with his 14 home runs. Biloxi finished its season 71-66, did not qualify for playoffs.

Taylor Williams (Camas HS), Biloxi Shuckers (Southern League, Milwaukee Brewers 40-man roster)
Position: RHP
Season stats: 0-2, 3.09 ERA, 22 games, 14 starts, 46.2 IP, 57 Ks, 21 BB, 1.35 WHIP
Recent highlights: In last appearance at Biloxi on Aug. 31, went 6 up, 6 down with 2 K’s and reached 99 mph with the fastball. The next day, Sept. 1, called up to the Brewers. UPDATE: Williams made his MLB debut on Sept. 6, getting the last two outs in the 8th inning at Cincinnati in a 7-1 loss.

Tommy Thorpe (Evergreen HS), Tennessee Smokies (Southern League, Chicago Cubs)
Position: LHP
Season stats: 4-4, 3.76 ERA, 40 games, 67.0 IP, 64 Ks, 32 BB, 1.33 WHIP
Recent highlights: Picked up the victory in his last outing of the season, pitching the final two innings of a 2-1, 14-inning win against Jackson (Diamondbacks) on Sept. 3.

Single-A (advanced)

Ian Hamilton (Skyview HS), Winston-Salem Dash (Carolina League, Chicago White Sox)
Position: RHP
Season stats: 4-6, 2.64 ERA, 44 games, 7/9 saves/opportunities, 71.2 IP, 74 Ks, 16 BB, 1.05 WHIP
Recent highlights: Earned the win in his last outing of the season, pitching the final two innings with four strikeouts on 31 pitches in a 3-2 win against Salem (Red Sox) on Sept. 3. Winston-Salem (56-84) did not qualify for the playoffs.

Caleb Whalen (Union HS), Carolina Mudcats (Carolina League, Milwaukee Brewers)
Position: LF
Season stats: 41 games, .200 BA, 9 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 10 RBI, .296 OBP, .336 SLG
Recent highlights: Went 2 for 3 with an RBI in a 4-3 win against Winston-Salem on Aug. 31.

Single-A

Tyler Hallead (Camas HS), Lakewood BlueClaws (South Atlantic League, Philadelphia Phillies)
Position: RHP
Season stats: 1-1, 5.05 ERA, 27 games, 1/3 saves/opportunities, 41.0 IP, 49 Ks, 22 BB, 1.32 WHIP
Recent highlights: Had a 2.70 ERA in his last 10 outings (16.2 innings) of the season.

Rookie

Brady Whalen (Union HS), Johnson City Cardinals (Appalachian League, St. Louis Cardinals)
Position: INF
Season stats: 53 games, .221 BA, 12 2B, 2 3B, 7 HR, 34 RBI, .348 OBP, .416 SLG, 2 SB
Recent highlights: Finished season 17th in RBI and 14th in runs scored (34) in the Appalachian League. Johnson City (33-34) did not qualify for playoffs.

Seaver Whalen (Union HS), Princeton Rays (Appalachian League, Tampa Bay Rays)
Position: INF
Season stats: 37 games, .248 BA, 7 2B, 2 HR, 10 RBI, .352 OBP, .355 SLG, 3 SB
Recent highlights: Went 2 for 3 with a double in a 6-2 win against Greeneville (Astros) on Aug. 30. Had a five-game hit streak Aug. 22-30. Princeton (31-36) did not qualify for playoffs.

Jake Dahlberg (Heritage HS), Johnson City Cardinals (Appalachian League, St. Louis Cardinals)
Position: LHP
Season stats: 2-0, 4.96 ERA, 19 games, 32.2 IP, 32 Ks, 10 BB, 1.35 WHIP
Recent highlights: Finished the season with a 2.55 ERA in last 10 appearances (17.2 innings) with three walks and 16 strikeouts.

Isaiah Smith (Battle Ground HS), AZL Royals (Arizona League, Kansas City Royals)
Position: OF
Season stats: 37 games, .148 BA, 5 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 14 RBI, .205 OBP, .244 SLG
Recent highlights: Scored two runs in an 8-2 win against AZL Padres on Aug. 27. Did not qualify for playoffs.
