The evolving beer industry has led Hopworks Urban Brewery to tweak its flagship beer, the Portland-based brewery said Wednesday.

The bike-friendly brewpub, which chose Vancouver for its third location last December, said Hopworks Organic IPA now makes use of newer varieties of hops. Its retail packaging will also shift from selling four 16-ounce cans to six 12-ounce cans.

Founder and brewmaster Christian Ettinger said it was time for a change, and they had fun with it.

“Rethinking our flagship IPA was a challenge that we embraced,” he said. “The beer world has changed a lot in the last decade.”
