Camas — Disaster responders from the American Red Cross in the Cascades Region of Oregon and Southwest Washington are on the ground in Texas and Florida helping communities hit by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma with shelter, food, water, cleanup supplies and recovery assistance. The responders traveled to Texas and Florida from various cities in Oregon, including Portland, Tigard and Medford, as well as from Camas, according to a news release from the Red Cross. Camas was the only Washington city listed in the release. While in Texas and Florida, the responders work in disaster relief shelters, deliver food and water to affected communities, provide emergency financial assistance, help with family reunification and deliver health and mental health services to those in need.
