Amid concerns, two roundabouts planned for Highway 14

WASHOUGAL — On any given day, Exterior Wood has dozens of tractor-trailers driving in and out of its yard at the Port of Camas-Washougal Industrial Park. So when the Washington State Department of Transportation proposed building two roundabouts on state Highway 14, company leaders got a little nervous.

“I had very mixed feelings — still do,” said Dave Perry, president of Exterior Wood.

“We’re aware that the charges have been filed and are investigating,” school district spokeswoman Rita Sanders said Monday.

Investigators and the family of a Vancouver woman and mother of four who went missing in February still have scant little information to work from, and are pleading for the public’s help.

The chase started after 3:30 p.m., when, according to Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp, an officer on patrol attempted to pull over a driver for reckless driving near St. Johns Road and Fourth Plain Boulevard.

County’s only ice rink to close in August

After 20 years in operation, Clark County’s only ice rink is closing this summer.

Mountain View Ice Arena recently posted a letter on its Facebook page, alerting people to the closure and thanking them for their business. All passes and punch cards will expire on Aug. 31, the last day people can skate.

The east Vancouver ice rink is owned by Portland-based City Bible Church, which in 2016 signaled that it would remodel the building and open an elementary school.
