PORTLAND — A motorcyclist died in a crash with two cars early Tuesday in Southeast Portland, police say.

The motorcyclist, a man, died at the scene, which is near 141st Avenue and Powell Boulevard, Portland police said in a news release. The drivers of an involved truck and sedan stayed at the scene.

Officers initially responded just before 2:40 a.m. The crash is under investigation. No details about its circumstances were released early Tuesday.

The incident is the third traffic death the Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team has investigated this year.

Powell Boulevard will be closed to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians between 138th and 144th avenues through at least part of the morning commute, police say.

Police urge anyone who has information about the crash to call 503-823-2103.
