Ridgefield School District hands out monthly honors to employee, students

Ridgefield — The Ridgefield school board honored an employee and students of the month at the Feb. 13 board meeting. The employee of the month is Sara Eastham, a member of Union Ridge Elementary School’s Positive Behavior Intervention Support team, who was honored for taking a lead in planning and presenting the school’s Positive Behavior Intervention Support assemblies. Marlena Hernandez, a fifth-grader at South Ridge Elementary School, was named student of the month for her school for her commitment to school paired with her positive attitude for learning. Union Ridge’s student of the month is second-grader Jack Rorabaugh, who is a creative and critical thinker and someone who continually looks for creative ways to solve problems. Lucas Allmaras, an eighth-grader, was named View Ridge Middle School’s student of the month for consistently contributing to a positive learning environment and maintaining high expectations of himself by welcoming feedback. Ridgefield High School’s student honoree was sophomore Sydney Dean, who was described as hardworking, respectful, dependable, ruthless in her learning and a student who demonstrates respectfulness, responsibility and resilience.
