Mountain View High School, which is one of the better high schools in the county, is a target of Evergreen Public Schools’ bond. The reason appears to be the perceived safety of classrooms that open to the outside. Since there is no correlation between inside schools vs. outside schools in the safety from attacks, it becomes clear there is no basis for this extravagant cost.
If there were a problem with the outside doors, it would also stand to reason that we would have to stop all recess, outside P.E. classes and sports practices. Don’t buy into any part of this ill-conceived bond.
