A Vancouver woman was following too close while driving on southbound Interstate 5 on Friday night and caused a three-vehicle crash, according to Washington State Patrol.

Sarah B. Smith, 25, did not slow her Jeep Wrangler on the freeway at Milepost 31 near Kalama and hit a silver Chrysler van driven by a woman from Juneau, Alaska. The van was pushed into a Toyota Prius, according to a trooper accident memo.

Smith was cited for following too close, according to the memo. Drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash.

Three people were hurt. Smith was reportedly injured but did not go to a hospital. The drivers of the Chrysler van and Toyota were taken to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center.
