Letter: Focus on Trump’s triumphs

Ron Sturgeon’s May 14 letter (“Trump damage will linger,” Our Readers’ Views) bemoaning the moral and social damage he sees happening to our country and around the world because of President Trump’s presidency, once again brings up the fact that Trump did not win the majority vote by the people. Apparently this must mean he is not the people’s president.

Liberals always conveniently seem to forget that President Bill Clinton did not win the majority vote in either of his presidential bids. And let’s not forget how Clinton took advantage of a young woman inside the Oval Office and the country and the world had to watch him lie about it for months on end.

Trump was fairly elected to be our president based on our electoral system despite special counsel Robert Mueller’s unscrupulous efforts to prove otherwise. He deserves our respect and support. Perhaps if Sturgeon and others made some effort to focus on Trump’s achievements instead of listening to all the ridiculous hysteria, they might feel better about things. They’ll have to go looking, however, because the liberal press does not make a habit of printing much about them.
