A 20-year-old Vancouver man faces potential charges of robbery and harassment for allegedly punching and threatening to kill a taxi cab driver.

Keonte Desmont Scott was arrested Sunday on suspicion of harassment and fourth-degree assault. The latter allegation has been changed to first-degree robbery, according to charging information filed Tuesday by Senior Deputy Prosecutor James Smith.

Scott punched a Radio Cab driver several times on the right side of the face, and then threatened to shoot the man to death while reaching into his fanny pack, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The attack and Scott reaching into the pack caused the cab driver to fear for his life, the probable cause affidavit says.

Scott is also accused of not paying his $57 fare.

At an initial appearance in Clark County Superior Court on Monday, Judge John Fairgrieve set Scott’s bail in the robbery case at $10,000 and set an arraignment date of May 25.

Scott is also a co-defendant in a Camas home-invasion robbery that allegedly involved three teens and another 20-year-old. The other suspects were arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop in Vancouver.
