WASHOUGAL — People who donate a youth bike helmet at Washougal’s National Night Out will get to attempt to dunk a Washougal police captain.

The annual event is from 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 2 at Hathaway Park, 799 25th St.

Those who donate will get three tries to dunk Capt. Zane Freschette, according to a city news release. Officers will pass out the donated helmets to kids in the city throughout the summer.

The event will also feature an ice cream social, presentation of Disney’s “Zootopia” at dusk, free giveaways, safety demonstrations and a selfie station. Admission is free.
