A man was shot to death late Sunday night in an apparent home invasion robbery at a residence in the 5300 block of Northeast St. James Road, in the Minnehaha area of Vancouver.

Charles N. Moore, 46, died at the scene.
Investigators are looking for two to five black males wearing masks and dark clothing in connection to the shooting.

Officers were dispatched to the residence just before 11 p.m. Sunday.

Dispatch reports indicated there was an armed robbery and shots had been fired, according to a Vancouver Police Department bulletin.

Arriving officers found Moore unconscious. He appeared to have suffered at least one gunshot wound.

Investigators with the police Major Crimes Unit worked through Sunday night and well into this morning, and are continuing the investigation, said police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.

As of Monday, detectives had identified no suspects and reported no arrests.

On Monday afternoon, detectives hadn’t confirmed early reports that the killing was part of a robbery, and, if it was, they hadn’t said what the assailants were seeking, Kapp said.

Detectives are asking neighbors and others who were in the area at the time of the shooting, and who may have seen someone running, a possible escape vehicle or other suspicious activity, to call them.

Those with immediate information can call 911.
