WASHOUGAL — The Parker House restaurant property has been sold for $1.7 million to group of local investors who plan to either remodel the Columbia River waterfront building or tear it down and rebuild. Meanwhile the restaurant is closed.

It would reopen as the Black Pearl, said Russell Brent, one of two investors who bought the property from professional jockey Victor Espinoza. Espinoza had owned and operated the restaurant as the Parker House since 2004.

It was closed on Saturday, said Brent, who expects to firm up construction plans within the next 30 days. He said renovation work could cost anywhere from $500,000 for minor remodeling to $4 million for a major reconstruction project.
