PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A Portland public schools spokesman says 24 laptop computers were stolen from a Portland high school.
Matt Shelby says a thief or thieves early Saturday morning broke through a window in a south-facing exterior classroom of Madison High in northeast Portland and took two dozen MacBooks kept in a cabinet.
The laptops were used by students studying English as a second language and were equipped with software used to teach languages.
The room was the only one targeted.
Shelby told The Oregonian the laptops were insured.
