Volunteers are needed Saturday to help spruce up the popular Jones Creek off-road vehicle area in east Clark County.

The state Department of Natural Resources, along with three off-road organizations, is sponsoring a work party from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jones Creek trail system in the Yacolt Burn State Forest. The trail system opens May 1.

Projects include litter pickup, painting the restroom, installing trail signs, brushing trails and other maintenance work. Volunteers should bring gloves, boots, work clothes, rain gear, water and appropriate hand tools.

A volunteer appreciation barbecue lunch follows.

Partners include the Jones Creek Trail Riders, Pistons Wild Motorsports and Dirt Church ATV Riding Group. For directions and more information, contact Josh Riepe with the DNR at 360-280-5467 or josh.riepe@dnr.wa.gov.
