WALTON, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say traffic on Oregon Highway 126W between Eugene and Florence was disrupted for hours Wednesday by a crash involving a giant bridge girder.

A commercial truck hauling the 177-foot-long concrete beam ran into a ditch and overturned. The girder broke.

Trooper Gale Cochell says the truck driver was not injured and no other vehicles were involved. By late Wednesday afternoon, the truck had been removed. An Oregon Department of Transportation spokesman said the girder was being cut into smaller sections for removal.
