HOUSTON (AP) — Major League Soccer’s Houston Dynamo is a step closer to a new stadium.

Houston’s City Council unanimously approved an agreement on Wednesday for a 20,000-seat stadium in partnership with the Dynamo and Harris County.

The proposal is expected to go before Harris County commissioners next week, and they are expected to approve the deal.

The stadium project is expected to cost $95 million. The Dynamo will pay $60 million in construction costs, and the city and county will pay $20 million in infrastructure improvements around the facility. The city purchased the land at the stadium site for $15.5 million in March 2008.
