NEW YORK (AP) — Joe Jones resigned as Columbia’s basketball coach Friday to become associate head coach at Boston College.

Jones was 86-108 overall and 39-59 in the Ivy League in seven seasons at Columbia. The Lions were 11-17 overall and 5-9 in the Ivy League this past season.

“I am truly grateful for my time here at Columbia. I loved it here,” Jones said.

Columbia won its only Ivy League basketball title in 1967-68.
