MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — A 30-year-old man has been charged in the death of a teenage girl who disappeared while walking to church nearly 14 years ago.

Jackson County District Attorney Mark Huddleston says 30-year-old William Frank Simmons was indicted on one count of murder.

The Mail Tribune newspaper reports Simmons was arrested Wednesday night in Grants Pass on a parole violation stemming from an old drug charge. The murder charge was added Thursday morning.

Kaelin (KAY’-linn) Rose Glazier was a high school sophomore when she vanished in November, 2006. Her body was discovered two years ago in a field near where Simmons lived in 1996.

Huddleston says Simmons was named a person of interest in 1999. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in Jackson County Circuit Court.
