SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A Spokane firefighter was placed on administrative leave Thursday because of his arrest in Stevens County by Washington State Patrol troopers who suspected him of drunken driving.

Todd Chism has not been charged, but the case is still under investigation.

The Patrol says troopers found Chism’s truck spinning its wheels in a ditch early Tuesday on Highway 291. Troopers say Chism resisted arrested and they repeatedly used a stun gun to take him into custody. One trooper suffered a broken thumb and another suffered a hand injury in the fight.

Chism is suing the State Patrol for $20 million in a separate case. He says he was wrongly accused of buying child pornography in 2008. He was cleared and returned to work.
