SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) — The former owner of a Springfield coffee stand has been ordered to pay $50,000 for sexually harassing an employee in 2007.

The head of Oregon’s Bureau of Labor and Industries has told Charles Edward Minor he needs to pay for the mental and physical abuse of a 21-year-old woman over several days.

At the time, Minor was the owner of Phoenix Espresso and had hired the woman as a barista. The money would go to the former employee who says Minor made numerous sexual comments, suggested she show more cleavage to get better tips, and told her she was hired because he likes women with large breasts.

The state found that Minor created a hostile and intimidating work environment that effectively forced the woman to quit.
