A post-nap surprise

My family was living in Spokane at the time. I was only 3 1/2, so I don’t remember much, except waking up from a nap to several inches of ash in our yard.

I remember my mom gathering apothecary jars, and we went out and collected ash in those jars.

Sure wish I knew where they are now…
