EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — Stevens Pass Ski Resort is planning to start construction on a new mountain bike park this summer.

The project will also include a new water treatment system for the ski area. The Forest Service approved the proposed plan on Tuesday.

The mountain bike park will include seven miles of downhill mountain bike trails just south of the Granite Peaks ski lodge. Ski area management says the park will increase use of the property in the summer and meet a growing demand for mountain biking.
