MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Hank Aaron and his boyhood home both received a Hall of Fame-style tribute.

The former home run king and six other Baseball Hall of Famers attended the dedication of his home-turned-museum Wednesday in Aaron’s hometown, along with commissioner Bud Selig.

The white clapboard home was relocated to Hank Aaron Stadium, where the Double-A Mobile Bay Bears play. The baseball luminaries attending included Willie Mays, Reggie Jackson, Ozzie Smith, Bob Feller, Bruce Sutter and Rickey Henderson. Smith is also a Mobile native.

Aaron said afterward he felt quite proud because it was billed as the first time a Hall of Famer’s childhood home has been relocated to a stadium.

It was built by his father, Herbert.
