PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — The United Nations says a Spanish military helicopter has crashed in rugged terrain in Haiti and that the fate of the four aboard is not yet known.

U.N. spokesman George Ola-Davies says a Chilean U.N. helicopter could not land at the scene about 30 miles (50 kilometers) southeast of the Haitian capital because of the rough terrain. It could not detect any survivors.

Ola-Davies says the crash occured about 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
