LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Paul Tracy is getting another shot at the Indianapolis 500.
The runner-up in one of the most controversial Indy 500 finishes will drive a fourth car for KV Racing Technology for the May 30 race, joining E.J. Viso, Takuma Sato and Mario Moraes.
Tracy is driving part-time in the IndyCar Series, and drove KV Racing’s No. 15 car at last year’s Indy 500. He climbed as high as fourth and ended up ninth after debris damaged his car.
This will be Tracy’s sixth Indy 500.
The former Champ Car driver finished second in 2002 after a late-lap caution flag came out as he was passing Helio Castroneves. IRL officials ruled in favor of Castroneves, but Tracy still claims he won the race.
