VANCOUVER — A coalition of environmental, labor union, public health and faith-based groups will host a town hall in Vancouver Wednesday to discuss how Washington can wean itself off coal and move toward a clean energy economy.

People with opinions will be solicited to present public comments to help make the case that the state should phase out its only coal-fired plant — the TransAlta plant in Centralia — as soon as possible.

The town hall will be at the Water Resources Education Center beginning at 7 p.m., with a reception at 6:30 p.m.
