OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — One hundred Washington teachers will get $7,600 in federal money to help them learn to use technology in the classroom.

The technology teaching and learning grants announced Monday are for the 2010-2011 school year.

The program is designed to help teachers learn to use real-world technology in the classroom.

To qualify for the program, teachers must teach in a district with more than 14 percent of families below the poverty live. They also must work in a school that has been labeled as needing improvement or with a substantial need for help buying and using technology.

This grant program is paid for with national stimulus dollars.
