PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Rutgers leading scorer Mike Rosario is transferring to Florida.

Rosario said in a telephone interview Monday that he visited the university in Gainesville, Fla., over the weekend and told Gators coach Billy Donovan he would join the program.

While he enjoyed having the chance to stay at home and play at Rutgers, Rosario said that the constant losing made him decide to transfer after two seasons.

Rosario started 30 of 32 games last season, averaging 16.7 points and 3.9 rebounds. He set a school freshman scoring record the year before with 517 points, a team-high 16.2 average.
