MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Jackson County commissioners agreed to lend the Southern Oregon Historical Society $200,000 to keep it from going under.

Commissioners had earlier agreed to give $1 million to the historical society from the sale of the U.S. Hotel in Jacksonville.

The $200,000 advance will help tide the historical society over for six months until the sale is completed.
