GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Former University of Florida broadcaster Steve Babik has pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge.

Babik pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of receipt and distribution of child pornography. He is facing a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison. Sentencing is Aug. 2.

Prosecutors alleged that between June 2008 and November 2009, the 50-year-old Babik offered known child pornography files for distribution 326 times on his home computer. Analysis of Babik’s computer revealed “a significant volume of children engaging in sexual acts with other children and with adults,” prosecutors said.

Babik, a longtime sideline reporter for football games, was fired in November. He had worked at the school since 1987.
