Royals put Parrish on DL

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — The Kansas City Royals have placed left-hander John Parrish on the 15-day disabled list with left rotator cuff inflammation.

The move was made before Thursday night’s game against Tampa Bay.

Parrish went 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA in nine relief appearances this season.

The Royals also recalled pitcher Victor Marte from Triple-A Omaha. The right-handed reliever appeared in six games with Omaha, going 1-0 with one save and a 3.48 ERA.
