BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — California starting forward Omondi Amoke has been dismissed from the team by coach Mike Montgomery for violating team rules.

Amoke had been suspended indefinitely since March 17, before the eighth-seeded Golden Bears beat Louisville in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Cal made the announcement Friday that he was dismissed from the team, but provided no further details.

Cal is coming off its first Pac-10 regular-season title in 50 years.

Amoke, a 6-foot-7 sophomore, moved into the starting lineup late in the season and started 14 games. He averaged 4.8 points and 4.6 rebounds.
