PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard says a lumber truck’s damaged fuel tank spilled diesel into the Columbia River in Portland.

The Coast Guard was notified Friday morning that a sheen had been spotted on the river near Jantzen Beach.

A response team determined the truck had spilled 30 to 50 gallons of diesel fuel.

An environmental cleanup company is trying to remove the fuel from the bridge and water.
