Marleau misses Game 1 for Sharks

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Patrick Marleau was scratched from Game 1 of the San Jose Sharks’ second-round series against Detroit because of an undisclosed injury.

The Sharks said Marleau is day to day. Game 2 is Sunday night.

Marleau led the Sharks with 44 goals in the regular season. He scored only one goal in six games in the first round against Colorado.

Defenseman Niclas Wallin also missed the game with an injury. Forward Jed Ortmeyer returned after missing the final three games against the Avalanche.
