FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The New England Patriots have signed eight undrafted rookie free agents, including an All-American wrestler projected as an offensive lineman.

John Wise played one year of college football as a defensive tackle at Western Illinois before transferring to Illinois, where he qualified three times for the NCAA wrestling championships.

Patriots guard Stephen Neal was also a collegiate wrestler.

The other players signed are wide receiver Bryan Anderson from Central Michigan; safeties Sergio Brown from Notre Dame and Ross Ventrone from Villanova; defensive linemen Dane Fletcher from Montana State and Kyle Love of Mississippi State; cornerback Terrence Johnson from California of Pennsylvania; and running back Pat Paschall of North Dakota State.

All eight will participate in rookie minicamp starting Friday.
