DETROIT (AP) — Detroit Tigers rookies Scott Sizemore and Brennan Boesch are the first teammates in eight years to hit their first career homers in the same inning.

Both homers came off Los Angeles Angels starter Joel Pineiro in Detroit’s eight-run fourth inning Friday night. Sizemore’s came one pitch after Gerald Laird’s first homer of the season, while Boesch hit a grand slam six batters later.

According to STATS LLC, the feat hadn’t been accomplished since Cleveland’s Victor Martinez and Earl Snyder both hit their first homers in the fifth inning against Kansas City on Sept. 29, 2002.
