PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) — Olympic National Park rangers cited a Port Angeles man last week for keeping a bull trout he caught in Lake Mills.

Fishing for the endangered species is prohibited, and anglers must release any protected fish they catch accidentally. Knowingly taking the fish carries a fine up to $1,300.

KONP reports all fishing in the Lake Mills reservoir and Elwha River is currently only catch-and-release.
